Today we continue in the word of Jeremiah with chapters 7-9:3
Scripture Referenced:
Leviticus 18:21
Leviticus 20:2
Deut 18:10
2 Kings 16:3; 21:6
Jeremiah 7:18; 44:17-19; 44:25
4446: Queen: Meleketh (mel-eh-keth)
from 4427 malak (maw-lak)
The word significance is found in the chronicle of Judah's idolatry. It is used solely to designate a fertility goddess worshipped in Jeremiah's day. The queen of the heavens is thought to be either Ashtoreth, who is symbolized by the moon, or Astarte, who is symbolized by the planet Venus.
8205: Bare heights: shephiy (Shef-ee)
from 8192 bareness (concrete) a bare hill/plain; carries the idea of a barren of smooth place and is used to describe dry places where God will open rivers (Isaiah 41:18) and infertile places where God will create pastures (Isaiah 49:9). Where Balaam went to meet God. Where Israel was to lament their destruction.
